Hi, I’m Lisa, a nutritionist, healthy food enthusiast and foodblogger from Germany.
Lisa’s Healthy Kitchen is your go-to-resource for simple and healthy recipes.
You’ll get lots of easy-to-make recipes that are quick and easy to make. Made of simple ingredients packed with nutrients. Most recipes are vegetarian or vegan, sometimes gluten-free. Sweet recipes are always refined sugar-free and generally low in sugar.
I specialise in delicious salads, healthy breakfast ideas and quick weeknight dinners.
Good news! This blog isn’t jumping on the fad diets or other nutrition bandwagons. I highlight a balanced diet that integrates easily into your daily routine. Plus, I encourage a relaxed approach to food and throw in fun cooking and eating for good measure.

From business to nutrition to blogging
How I started out in finance and ended up blogging? Here’s the story in short:
After graduating from school, I went to university to study international business. Afterwards I’ve been working in finance and accounting for two years, which was fun but didn’t really fulfill me. At the same time my interest in nutrition started to grow so I decided to quit my job and start anew. I went back to university and completed another degree in nutrition.
Originally I had always wanted to become a dietitian and to counsel people. However, I realised that that wasn’t exactly what I would be enjoying.
I had started a foodblog during my second time at university – just as a hobby and a creative thing to do. But it was growing steadily and eventually I made a bit of money with it. Wow, you can actually earn money foodblogging?
Straight after completing my degree in nutrition, I gave birth to our daughter. So I went directly to maternity leave (even though I strictly didn’t have a job but let’s just call it that).
I also realised that i just loved blogging! It was really fulfilling me and if I was completely honest with myself, I didn’t want to do any other job. So I worked really hard to set my blog up as a proper business. It took a while and definitely wasn’t easy.
I am so grateful that – when our daughter went into daycare – I was able to do this as my job. My dream job.
My German foodblog that I’m talking about is called Dinkel & Beeren (which would translate to spelt and berries – just two foods that I really enjoy).
Lisa’s Healthy Kitchen
Lisa’s Healthy Kitchen is my second blog project. I decided against simply translating Dinkel & Beeren into English and make it a bilingual blog. Instead I started a separate blog.
Why? Well, not all recipes make sense for an English speaking audience as some products simply are not available else where. So I hand pick a few selected recipes and adapt them for this blog.
In case you’re worried that my recipes are not suited for an English speaking audience: I have someone living in the US helping me adapt the recipes and double checking that they are well suited for an English speaking reader. I want to ensure that you get the best possible recipe and not just a mere translation. I want the recipes to be of actual value to you!
But please feel free to leave a comment if you stumble upon anything that doesn’t feel right or doesn’t make sense to you.
